Amen! True, Terese, this is another great verse. It is a snapshot of a Christian life i.e. “a broken and contrite heart.” Even in the days of the psalmist, there were probably those who felt their prideful life, glory days, and comfort zone shattered in front of them and eventually realized that only GOD can truly give lasting comfort here (i.e. grace) and glory up there. Also, there were probably those who pleaded to GOD for forgiveness, at the prodding of the HOLY SPIRIT, remorseful and ashamed for the sins they committed. What a merciful GOD we have, accepting such broken and contrite heart (better than animal sacrifices back then). GOD bless you Terese, you and your family!
Gersom, more and more we need to be reminded and encouraged to run the race with perseverance and purpose…God’s purpose. Thank you for your part in encouraging and bringing the hope and truth of Jesus!
True, Terese, I agree with you! Let us then continue running the race that is set before us and looking to JESUS the founder and perfecter of our faith. Thanking GOD for giving us opportunities like our blogs to serve Him by encouraging His followers. Blessings in CHRIST! Good morning (dawn) from the Philippines!

Good evening from California, Moses! I am blessed to be on this blogging journey with you. I thank God for His continued insight for all of us called to share Jesus through the words He gives us. 😊
Good afternoon from Metro Manila, Terese! Thank you and I really appreciated your encouragement; making it motivating and fun. We all must “press on” in this journey of making JESUS known. GOD’s blessings be upon you and your family!🙂
True, Crissy, the verse reminds us of Luke 7:36-50 and the song, Broken and Spilled Out by Steve Green. The scenario I had in mind is when we are at the end of the rope, lost some friends, broken, and realized GOD is the only thing we have. At that moment we humbly seek GOD and feel so sorry for the wrongs/sins we committed. The merciful GOD looks for the humble and contrite in spirit as indicated in Isaiah 66:2 and James 4:10. Lastly, I’m reminded of a musical song with these lyrics, “when you are broken on the ground, you will be found.” We will find GOD who Has already found us earlier.
Yes, Crissy, when it is noisy and there is so much distraction, we can’t focus/listen to GOD. Events like that happened to clear the noise/distractions. 🙂👍
True, Jim! It is a powerful verse worth noting as we return to the proper series on GOD’s grace and focusing first on faith. One more verse before we end the series break. Rather the series break is broken. LOL.
Answering your question on my blog: This brother lives in Manila in the area where a lot of Chinese live. Hope this virus goes away soon…that’s my prayer
GOD willing, Jim! It is a big burden though in the health and socio-economic sectors, this new normal. That would probably be Binondo. Manila City is not the top now in the stats but due to its population density it is still a risky area. Your brother should just lay low and follow health measures i.e. proper protection and hygiene and no malls. Binondo is surrounded with malls.
True, Bonnie, it is indeed a great verse! I like the behavior changing verse also; a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart. A clear message of humility in response to grace.
Amen!

How true that is Clark. Only when we hit rock bottom, only in the depths of despair, it is then that we find God and begin to know Him.

So grateful He receives the broken hearted…by His grace of course. This is a good passage to share.
