We all do, Jonah as we are all sinful in nature and only GOD by His grace can change our heart and renew our mind. What we do good or “righteously”, will still be as filth because apart from living in GOD’s grace by faith in our redeemer JESUS CHRIST, our righteous works will lead us to nowhere. We cannot pay a fraction of our single sin in countless hundreds of thousands more. Our works is just a manifestation of our GOD saved lives, renewed mind, and changed hearts but can never save us. And, as you mentioned, we are grateful to the Triune GOD. It is GOD’s grace to the unworthy us that He sent His only Son, JESUS CHRIST who in His mercy bore the pusnishment for all our sins in the cross. Not only the SON of GOD cleanses us from all our sins but also put/placed in us His righteousness. Now seated with GOD the FATHER, He will welcome us someday in heaven as His own people clothed in His righteousness. While on earth, we are guided, convicted, and interceded by the HOLY SPIRIT who renews our mind and changes our heart for eternity. GOD bless you and your family!
Amen, Lesley, GOD is gracious! We read a lot on His grace in the previous verses and we will know more on how we are being justified in the succeeding verses. GOD bless you and your family!
Good Morning from Pennsylvania!! I am having my God time and I just read Psalm 32:1–2 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit (ESV). Praise God for His forgiveness and mercy! Praise God that in Christ and our position in Him we can put on new garments and live as His forgiven and redeemed children (see Col 3:1-4,12-17). Praising our Triune God for His work in our salvation and helping us to live as new creations in Him. Love and blessings, Kent!!
Good morning, Mandy! All I can say now is Amen! Indeed, Psalm 32:1-2 and Colossians 3:1-4 are relevant verses to the subseries. True, we should be praising the Triune GOD for His work in our salvation! Were it not for GOD, there is no hope for us as our works are as filthy as mud dirty clothes. JESUS, through His blood (Hebrews 9:11-12) cleanses us (Isaiah 1:18) and as we put on (Galatians 3:27) His righteousness, we too are being righteous in the sight of GOD. We are justified by faith. GOD bless you and Nathan, Mandy! All the best with your Vplan development, let me know how I can help.
True, Crissy, we are so grateful to the Triune GOD for our salvation! We are not capable of saving ourselves ever and our heart is dark to do good. Even if we do good and be “righteous” as we perceived, we simply cannot pay a fraction of a single sin in so many hundreds of thousands comitted in a lifetime. So our goodness is like filthy clothes. Now, we only have faith in our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST as we humbly accept grace by faith. Amazing grace indeed! GOD bless you Crissy! All the best for your ministry team!
I’m continuously praying for your team’s strength in faith to overcome. When we are in the right track by GOD’s divine direction, suddenly there are many “obstacles/hindrances.” We just have to look at GOD’s smile in heaven to keep us going. Blessings Crissy and good afternoon!
Yes, it is relevant to your recent post, Donna! I’ll attempt to combine them. JESUS cleanses our filthy and sinful lives and puts in us His righteousness as we are being born again now. And, with a glimpse of our future, we will then have a newly restored spirit and a new glorified body so we can worship the Triune GOD in heaven.
Well said, Jim, you hit the mark!👍 So we don’t consider our effort, no matter how great, because what we do cannot redeem us at all. It is only GOD the FATHER’s grace alone, through JESUS CHRIST alone, that is freely given to the unworthy us that we must humbly accept in faith. JESUS is merciful to us that He cleanses us from all sins and puts in us His righteousness.
Yup. I resemble that. Yes I do.
Thanks be to G-D our Father for His Son, our Savior, Yeshua Jesus, Who fulfilled G-D’s Righteous Demands that we might be Righteous in His.
L-RD Bless, Keep, Shine. . .

Yes, our iniquities took us away, but, praise God, Jesus brought us back.

This passage from Isaiah 64:6 shows how our righteousness by our own effort really looks like before God
