We are set apart by GOD for GOD. When we truly follow JESUS, Mandy, there are certain changes in us. Most of these changes are not compatible with worldly standards. We get hated due to these differences. We have to take into account that the world, keen into power, wealth, and at times shrewdness, hated JESUS for what CHRIST stands for. Blessings to you, Mandy, and your family!
We are grateful for our Lord GOD JESUS CHRIST for showing us these comforting truths, Jewels for the Soul. Because of this assurance that even if the world hates us but we are CHRIST’s own people, then that is great. We choose JESUS over the world. Blessings to you and your family!
Yes, Crissy, if the world is our friend at the expense of our soul and our faith in GOD then this world’s beloved friend and enemy to GOD will go to the abyss. We don’t worry if the world hates us because the fallen world too hates JESUS. Blessings to you and your family!
Grateful to our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST, Jim, for choosing us and warning us that if we follow Him, we will be hated by the world as darkness is not compatible to the light as pride against humility. You are right, He also gives us an assurance that even if the world hates us we are His. Blessings to you and your family!
True and probably this set of verses encourage the early Christians to press on inspite of lions, sword, and persecutions. All praises to the Triune GOD for directing our lives just like Jonah.
We cannot serve 2 masters, Ed! These two perspectives and pursuits are not compatible like oil and water (especially in a hot pan of life). The fallen world is attracted to power, wealth, prestige/fame, success, and “the pride of life” among others. Following CHRIST, carrying His cross, being sanctified by Him cannot pursue what is attractive by worldy standards. A blessed day to you and your family!
You are absolutely right, Ed, and I agree with you 100%! You make me smile actually and I’m not kidding about it. JESUS CHRIST will ask His redeemed to be humble, patient, and focus on Him in faith instead, and not on the fallen world; after all our home is in heaven and this is just a transient place. As much as I would like to add but I remind myself that I’m walking on a tightrope here and spreading the Gospel is the priority, and that it should reached people whom GOD will call as His own.
Sometimes we have to exercise our constitutional right but we should be mindful not to exceed as not to make one worldly belief co-equal with our faith in the Triune GOD; thus barely bordering idolatry (to be still diplomatic about it). Whatever happens, let us just say result of an election, we surrender it to GOD knowing He is omniscient, in control, sovereign, and He has a plan/purpose for everything. And sometimes, it is ok to not vote (although sayang nga, baka may flying voter makigamit).
Yes, ma’am Bonnie, we share GOD’s word to the world in love. We spread this and the Triune GOD will enlighten them, opened their eyes to see the Truth and follow Him. Only GOD can truly change the hearts and minds of people.
True, JJ, only few do love GOD because of the fallen nature of humans, it is hard for all of us to accept, let alone love GOD. It is GOD who loves us first. GOD the FATHER is merciful to us that by His grace that saves, He writes the law in our hearts, and we are redeemed through the atoning sacrifice of our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST; now the HOLY SPIRIT indwells in us so we can love GOD. Blessings to you and your family in the week ahead.
Words we need to hear and heed today!

What a reminder we are chosen by His grace; that truth definitely puts the world hating us in perspective

I assume that if Jesus were around today he wouldn’t vote for anyone nor would he take any sides politically

Jesus’ kingdom is not part of the world and the book of Revelation promises a new earth under a new heavenly kingdom so no point in voting

So true. We who love the LORD know not as many other people who love GOD as we do.
