    1. You are right, Perth Girl, may we consider our ways. The verse is true today as it was in Haggai’s time in 520 BC. In our long sanctification process, may we heed GOD’s call to consider our ways. Only the Triune GOD can satisfy us truly and not the temporal things in life. And only GOD can bless us with these temporal things we enjoy. Thus, we thank GOD for these blessings. GOD bless you and your family! 🙂

    1. True, Jim, we should consider our ways! While we are in this life-long sanctification process, may we consider, review, reflect on, and change what we are doing now in order to pursue Godly living in faith in the Triune GOD. May we also be content, grateful, and blissful for what the sovereign GOD leads us in our life instead of grumbling. In Haggai’s story, GOD wants His chosen people to follow His will of rebuilding. This was a lesson that we need GOD to bless us in our toil so we will be able to have and not lack what we truly need. I never thought the Typhoon was disastrous until when the fotages was seen in the news. Coincidentally, the Typhoon Quinta had 5 landfalls.

      1. I love the book of Haggai!! Preached it last year. I’m thinking maybe I should share it on our blog. May we took for the Lord with even our sanctification. Forgot to tell you yesterday I was praying for the Philippines and this Typoon. Going to look up more about it on the news and pray, hope you are safe

        1. Thank you for your prayers, Jim! The Typhoon left the islands and the sky is looking bright now. I watched last night’s news with a shocked on the coverage of the damages and extent of the floods for a not so strong Typhoon. People are recovering by now.

        5. True, Jim, that is when His power, mercy, and sovereign will is visible to the helpless person who appreciated His aid, and worships Him anew. On normal times that GOD shows His mercy, some people takes it for granted.

        7. Yes, absolutely, Jim! GOD’s power is made perfect in weaknesses like calamities, pandemic. It made some people reflect on GOD. And it is probably one of the many purposes that GOD allow these things to happen on humankind.

    1. You are absolutely right, Tom! No matter how “best” or “new” or “unique” those things, experiences, and even prizes of life, we will not be truly satisfied nor ever be contented; and we want some more. What an example it is but in fairness to you, the pie fell short of quality, the ones you and your wife have expected through out the years; thanks to new ownership and business model. It is GOD’s blessing that we will be truly satisfied and contented by His will for us. GOD also blesses us in our needs. GOD bless you and your wife!

    1. Honestly, I just satisfied my cravings for burgers early this month but for how long. It has been seven months of no burger before that though. Unlike a year ago that it was almost every week that I went to the mall, now, its all online.

        1. To think about it, December 2019 and the last time we went to the mall seems just like yesterday in this 7-month house arrest. Thanking GOD for WordPress and other stuff. I will vouch that this pandemic and consequent risk reduction protocol is also a way of knowing the Triune GOD more, His grace, and His Word.

        2. Indeed it is a time of knowing God more, it has been one of the most busiest time for me in ministry in terms of how many people I am ministering beyond my local church and with my local church

Observing how many books you read and reviewed, countering skeptics, preparing articles and sermons, continuing on a series and making new ones, and responding to comments, these alone, on top of family life, the weekly Bible Study, and the demands of church and youth ministries, and lastly to add, sleeping at 4:00AM, man, you are probably a robot, magician, superhero, enthusiastic energizer bunny, or empowered by GOD. Whatever it is, GOD is blessing your direction. Talking about Bible study, gta sleep early now.

        7. Thank you for another insighful and edifying lecture/Bible Study, Jim! I will say, this is good not just on leadership but also for spiritual growth and personal development. All I can say now is I owe you a professional fee; talking about personal growth. That was, thank GOD, very insightful 🙂👍👍and it involves GOD’s grace to heed, discern, and not angry! I think I have written my comment already for your tonight’s post. My regret now is not having a subsubseries on criticism in the subseries on sanctification although the James 1:19 scripture was posted in line with the series.

        9. Maybe a series of its own someday, taking cue on the verses you introduced and Biblical samples like Paul rebuking Peter. Talking about that rebuked, it was surprising for me when I first read that in 2013. The lineup of sets of verses is finalized days ago and this subseries need to end so the short subseries on glorification can start, until the whole series will end with election.

        15. Tama po! You have the right answer. Btw, the word “po” is usually attached to signify respect usually for elders but it is now used as courtesy regardless if the recipient is older or younger. “Tama” is right. Another word, walang inuman, (noticed we change letter a to i) literally means no drinking (implying hard drinks).

        18. I don’t know how many times overseas I try to speak a language and make a slight mistake and the people laugh till their stomach hurt since it means something else

        25. True, the subject of criticism can be adopted in most topics especially in a couple’s world as much as in a child’s world. Knowing how to respond to it early on is essential. Your discussion to the subject yesterday, Jim, was very essential.

  5. Those who ignore God’s will might really find themselves in the position of striving and never having enough. Those who heed Jesus’ suggestion to seek first the Kingdom (Mt 6:33) can expect God to take care of their material needs
