    1. True, Mandy, it is a very comforting verse to know that JESUS, a GOD, loves us so much. He proves this to the point of sacrificing Himself to the cross to cleanse us of all our sins so we will have grace from GOD. I agree with you that it is also convicting to us because loving others is dependent on who the others are. It is really hard for me to be Christian but that is the sanctification process is all about, grinding us until we are polished and completed in CHRIST. GOD bless you and your entire family!

One of the ways we are set apart (sanctified) is loving others and one another; I love how after the first verse that says that, Jesus talks about dying and of course He died for us, giving us a powerful motivation to love others in a way that’s different and set apart from those of the world!

    1. You are right, Jim, that is the second greatest commandment of JESUS. True, these Words (i.e. second verse) of GOD the SON have a tremendous impact (e.g. sin wiped out, we are clothed in JESUS’ righteousness, we can go directly to GOD the FATHER) that is hard to grasped the implication (i.e. salvation for our souls) when the disciples first heard it and even now without the GOD revealing it to us, through His Word. And again, you are right, as a powerful motivation to obey GOD’s command, having received His grace and Him working in our salvation, we should live a sanctified life of loving others in a Godly way; as we seek the HOLY SPIRIT to guide us to do so.

    1. You are right, Crissy, we can love others as JESUS had commanded because of the power of the HOLY SPIRIT that is working in us in this long sanctification process. We arw grateful for JESUS’ love for us as well as the salvation work of the Triune GOD. GOD bless you, your family, and ministry!

  5. Jesus commanded us to love one another. Where I stumble is when people commit the most horrible acts towards the vulnerable, such as children, the elderly, mentally/physically handicapped and animals. How am I to love people who hurt them? And yet, this is what Jesus commands us to do.

    1. With GOD, nothing is impossible, Lesley. Yes, those evil or horrible persons who commit such atrocities do not warrant nor deserve our love; especially the unrepentant ones. Only GOD can work in us, changing our perspective, increasing the scope of “our mercy,” and becoming like CHRIST as we journey in this sanctification process. With the Triune GOD, we can, as they say, “love the unlovable. Probably, some of them are saved too and thus they will change. Grateful to GOD for His Word that makes us ponder. GOD bless you and your family!

        1. Like you, I too, Lesley, needs GOD’s intervention also on that aspect. He comes to our life early on when we accepted Him and works in us all to be better in our Christian walk. GOD is always there for you! Good dawn/morning! 🐓🌞👍

        5. GOD willing we will be able to go back to UK after this pandemic. There are many places that we have not been too and I regretted I chose the Science Museum over Victoria and Albert. Next time. 🙂

        6. There are still lots of places I haven’t been to in the u.k. that I would love to visit. I’ve never been to the V & A either. I think it would be pretty amazing, and I’m longing to go to the massive library in the centre of Liverpool where I’d like to look up some historical records. Yes, God willing, once the pandemic is under control with a vaccine. Yay!
