You are right about it, Mandy! This is a hard one. Only the peace of JESUS (John 14:27) can make us love our enemies and fogive them completely. Today is a bright and sunny morning! 🌞 The calm before the big one.
Loving our enemy isn’t easy! But after the hurdle of forgiving an enemy it is easier than the first step. Still, it isn’t easy and we need the grace of God!
I agree with you, Jim, we really need GOD’s grace to love our enemies as JESUS did. True, it is hard to love and relatively easier to forgive an enemy. In time maybe but we remember what JESUS said, “with GOD, nothing is impossible.”
Amen, indeed! That signifies that we will be with the Triune GOD and worshipping Him in heaven because He insures that we are conformed according to His will for us; all for His glory. I’m relieved, no matter what the strength of this storm is, because of all your prayers. With GOD, nothing is impossible indeed. And everything is according to His sovereign will and glory.
Yes, true Jim, when GOD opens our eyes and heart on that, we give Him all the glory and trust whatever the cicumstances are. Whatever happens, we are confident that He has His reasons and purposes for it and our finite mind has not covered a fraction of all the information His omniscience mind Has known. Whatever happens during the storm, GOD is still sovereign.
Indeed. I’m praying for you to get sound sleep and a well-rested one as I know if I was in your shoe I probably won’t be able to sleep with a typoon coming in
We trust GOD, Jim! All things work for the good of those who love GOD. Humans have disaster management plans but the last say is GOD. All according to His will. My fear actually is if the landfall wind speed reaches 300 KPH or more, it will shatter most window glasses as the structural code designates a minimum standard of 250 KPH for building/house windows to withstand. Thank you for all your prayers, Jim.
Thank you very much, Jim! Your prayers mean a lot. The Super Typhoon has made landfall at 2:00 AM PHT/11:00AM PST. Currently, it is very gloomy and raining outside. It is expected to reach Mentro Manila by lunch time to afternoon.
Jim, your prayers were heard by GOD! THANK YOU LORD! After 4 landfalls, the Typhoon changed direction southwards. From 4:40PM to 5:30PM, we had a brown out. I failed to capture by video the tail end. When I made a video, it was relatively peaceful and calm. Sharing it to in a while.
There is so much that can be said about this (I feel a post coming on!), so I will ponder on it while waiting at the doctor’s surgery today for my flu injection. 😀
I’m praying for your visit to the doctor, Lesley. My apologies, this is the last post on the subtopic, love one another. The next one will be about the words we say. We will be ending this subseries on November 18 and proceed with the last two subseries on glorification and election. GOD bless you and your family!
That’s okay, Gersom. As soon as I made my post I realised that there really isn’t much more to say anyway. Jesus commanded us to love our enemies, so that’s all that needs to be said. We love Him so we obey Him. 😀
The visit to the surgery went like clockwork. The nurses were giving someone a flu injection every two minutes and there was no waiting about. It was exceptionally well organised.
I’m looking forward to your posts about words we say. Over time, I’m getting a bit better with that, but I daresay I have much more to learn and think about.
God bless you and yours too!
Thank GOD for that, Lesley! We are grateful indeed for His kindness that everything worked accordingly. We will start anew with Matthew 15:10-11 and Ephesians 4:29 and then another subtopic on pride and the rest is a long list of concluding verses and last minute reminders. And then move to the other topic of glorification.
So frightening just to watch those film clips. I see what you mean by the danger from unstable roofs. I can’t imagine what it must be like to experience such strong winds – up to 200 miles per hour and sustained at about 108 miles per hour. In the u.k., we start to get worried if the figures reach about 50 mph. Today (figure for Newcastle-upon-Tyne) the wind speed is 14 miles per hour. It fills me with dread to think what you’re all going through. I’m glad, judging by the films, that people are staying off the streets. Are livestock able to be kept safe too?
Thank you for taking the time to write this up, Gersom. I continue to pray for you all.
Thank you very much for all your prayers, Lesley! GOD answered them and reduced the power of the Typhoon (after 4 landfalls) and changed direction southwards. Some provinces and cities were sparred while those provinces who experienced the recent Typhoon Quinta/Molave are not; praying for them still. Experiencing a 200 miles per hour is really scary as even heavy objects can be moved. 50 miles is seems like one is in front of an aircon or a strong industrial fan. Thanking GOD for answering your prayers. I failed to capture the strongest wind as I had early dinner during an almost an hour of brown out. Sharing it to you in a while and see how GOD answered all your prayers. Usually, the evacuees or those who stayed at home, secured their livestock (one of their sources of income) and pets (most Filipinos treat their pets as family). Some places in Metro Manila have no electricity. Ours returned at 5:30PM. I’ll upload more pictures.
Thank you for all this information, Gersom. Thank God that the typhoon is losing power, though I realise it may be causing devastation in other areas.
I’m sorry I haven’t been quick to reply as I’ve had quite a lot of pain today and had to lie down. So glad, though, to hear that the situation is easing over there!
Lesley, you need to relax and try to take an afternoon nap. I’ll be praying for you now. Focus on JESUS as it will redirect your pain to His healing hand. Praying now.
Thank you, Gersom. I spent much of yesterday lying down and then went to bed early. I will try my best to focus on Jesus today instead of or through the pain.
I’m just going to look at the news to see what it’s like in your part of the world.
Thank you.
Praying for your pain, Lesley! Sometimes, here in the country we think that body pain is caused by air in the body, particularly in the muscles. A lukewarm body sponge bath or a date to the spa will help if that is the reason of the pain. It is available in BBC where it has a good footage in the ground zero. Likewise, thank you very much too. GOD bless you and your family!
Hello Gersom. I looked at the BBC site. It’s sad to see the devastation caused by the typhoon and storm. I pray that supplies and support gets through to everyone who needs it.
The pain isn’t as bad as it was yesterday. I’ll be able to go out with the dogs today (I didn’t yesterday), but we won’t be going as far as we usually do.
I feel awful at complaining about pain when there are storms raging in the world, but I was feeling so sorry for myself!
Blessings to you and yours, Gersom.
Lesley, I am very happy to know that the pain subsided and you are back with the usual stroll with your two favorites. He give it to the Triune who heals and sustains us with His grace blessings everyday.
Aside from providing relief to the affected, recovery is ongoing with the the restoration of electricity and communication lines (i.e. cell sites) to areas where the Typhoon made landfall and were cut off. Thank you very much for your prayers. GOD bless you!
It’s a massive job! I hope the International Red Cross are inundated with donations and they reach the services that need them.
It will probably be nearing your bed time by the time I get back with the dogs, so I’ll say Goodnight now. God is indeed good! God bless you too. 🙌
I think they do it to tease us! I had a lovely time yesterday watching two of them chasing each other round and round and up and down the trunk of a tree.
Looks like fun, Lesley, fun for both the dogs–who played with themselves and the squirrels who like teasing. Somehow, they too probably enjoyed the chase back then. And, you had fun too watching your love ones playing.
You are right and I agree with you, Alan! It is hard to love genuinely one another but it is harder, if not the hardest, to genuinely love our enemies. On our own, impossible. With GOD working in us, it is possible. There us at least a story on forgiveness and loving the murderer/enemy in one of the genocides. GOD indeed is at work! GOD bless you and your family!
Amen, this is hard to do. For if you can walk away in peace and pray for the whole situation you both are in, our GOD will give you the strength to get through it. For we know why people who may hate you is for the JESUS within us. So praying that JESUS will fix it will ease your mind knowing HE can help you and the enemy see the light of what is right.
Stay blessed Gersom! 🙂
Amen! Thank you for the insight, JJ! I like what you said that people who may hate us is for the JESUS within us, and praying to JESUS will fix it. GOD bless you and your family! Good night! 🙂
True, Crissy, loving an enemy is very hard. GOD heals wounds over time and mends our heart to love the unlovable. For GOD, nothing is indeed possible. Having GOD’s peace is priceless!
Hard one!
