    1. We should follow GOD out of love! True, Mandy, as we progress in our 1) understanding on the Triune GOD and His work in our salvation, 2) faith in Him alone, and 3) sanctification process, we shift from obeying and following Him out of fear to love. GOD is love and we should love GOD. GOD bless you and your family!

    1. True, Crissy, let us be perfected in love with the Triune GOD! Instead of fearing Him i.e. afraid of what penalty awaits us, we must love Him for He is merciful, sympathetic, and gracious. GOD works in our salvation so we can be with Him. So, why fear Him when He loves us since. GOD bless you and your family!

  1. Wow good focus with the coloring with the font of the words “perfected in love.” Sanctification involves the dimension of love, yet He is the one perfecting us in love!

    1. Amen! Only GOD can make us love Him, left in our own devices, we definitely won’t, Jim. As the Triune GOD works in our sanctification and our salvation, we shift from fearing GOD to striving to love GOD. This is part of our spiritual growth (as we go for solid food truths). Those words are the highlight and result of casting fear of being punished and replacing it with love and honor towards the Triune GOD. GOD bless you and your family!

      1. There is indeed a sense the sign of someone being sanctified he or she is replacing fear with love for God. Good point. So much grace!! Grace, grace, grace, it is grace that motivates our pursuit of Holiness

        1. True, Jim, it is the 1) grace that is given by GOD and 2) the knowledge/awareness that GOD gave grace and work for our salvation that we pursue holiness and love GOD. And if GOD does this and gave us awareness of what He has done, then what is this for? It is all for His glory alone. Thank you very much, Jim, for the lecture on fairness as a leader. It gives me new insights and the resultant life policies. GOD bless you, Nancy, and the kids!

        2. Amen to what you said. Thank you for joining us; I accidently fell asleep early last night, so didn’t comment back and posted today. I think the last few days of counseling people outside my church who have been going through various things have exhausted me.

        3. You should relax a bit, pastor! Currently, the wind here seems stronger than that Typhoon Goni, rains are heavy, and how I wish I could show you via Skype Jim, the real time sound and wind speed but I don’t want to open the window just to see what is going on outside. In two hours time, it will pass through here. By that time, I’m probably snoring with this constant current fluctuations and brown out.

        4. Thank you, Jim! Please give my thanks also to Jin. Thank you very much for initiating prayers, I appreciate it. Polillo, the island in Quezon Province where it first made landfall might not be a good shape. Also, a lot of areas in Metro Manila, Central, Southern, and parts of Northern Luzon will be flooded especially the low lying areas. The winds is stronger and longer duration than expected. Still in blackout with no wifi. We will pray! Good night!

        5. Electricity has returned almost 9:00am in our area and there was no mobile internet connectivity prior to that, only for calls and texting. Maybe because the cell sites, running on generators at that time, need to divert power to the two essential services of calls and texts.

        6. You are right, Jim, that is a high systolic experience inspite of the cold wind and rain. It happened 11 years ago in the same areas. Sharing with you some pictures. Thank GOD they were rescued!

        7. Yes, that old “bad Typhoon” paved the way for the DRRM Law to be passed by both Houses of Congress. It hit the capital and although many mitigating and preparedness efforts were done along the way, there are also repeats of past mistakes.

        8. Yes, inspite the awareness efforts, drills, and even reflections on the past disasters, there were still lapses. It was reported that the dams released water without warning that led to flooding; an that is just a sample of past mistakes.

    1. You are right, Ed, both love and gratitude to the Triune GOD is not compatible to being afraid in Him. When we love GOD because of His love to us first and are grateful for His salvation, we walk according to His way not because of fear of punishment but out of love to our wonderful and amazing Triune GOD. A storm but might strengthen into a Typhoon that is approaching Bicol, Quezon and Metro Manila that might affect Bulacan. 1.

    1. True, GOD the FATHER’s love to us is immeasurable and His grace is amazing! JESUS CHRIST’s love to us is also immeasurable that He sacrificed for all our sins and clothed us with His righteousness. Same case with the HOLY SPIRIT, who guides us always, convicts us of our sins and constantly intercedes for us when we sinned. We pray and live a life in faith by loving the Triune GOD and not out of fear. A blessed week ahead!
