True, Mandy, James is a practical book of the Bible; a manifestation/demonstration/fruit (Luke 8:16-17) of a person receiving GOD’s grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). As part of the summary on this series: focusing only on following the Law (which we recall in the previous verses, are hard for a sinful human to strictly do), just like works righteousness, gets us nowhere. Missing/violating/disregarding one Law is a point to sin; sin gets a point/mark/score. For an imperfect human, the tally goes up with sin winning the game. Grace will be the next set of posts. Blessings to you and your family!

Jenga! Crumbling down, just like pushing a tile that resulted to all domino tiles falling, failing on one Law leads to disaster. A winning point/score for sin, in a game of not sinning. We can’t evade sinning. Thank you, Perth Girl, for your encouragement. I’m grateful to GOD for His direction, giving us ideas, and through His providence, pictures like this are available.
You are definitely right about it, Ed! These principles or Truths as we all know it are interconnected woven and directed by one GOD in three Persons. These Truths of and from GOD, along with GOD’s promises, and assurances guides us in our walk of faith and points to our salvation in our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST.
Konektado at may iisang layunin lahat.
This verse alone refutes the idea of self-righteous works that can save us. We are already called to obey all of God’s law so to think we keep some of the Law will earn us justification is unbiblical. Good post,
You are right, Jim! We have no righteousness out of our own work following the some of the Law or all of it, even if it is heart-felt and genuine. It is an all or nothing at all, a missed-one-all-fail set of Laws, and definitely we cannot strictly comply with even one in a life time, how much more ten or hundreds. We have no righteousness we can be proud of or boast; nothing, nada, null set, zero. We only have JESUS CHRIST’s righteousness that He imputed to us. And that, we humbly accept. Blessings to you and your family!
Day went well! Long! After church service we had a ministry team meeting and then I had to do some drive for errands with church and I took a rare two and a half hour nap today; how was your day?
Yes Crissy, we will be like Scott Lang with all the jenga tiles falling to him, but what is portrayed is not so gruesome compared to the penalty of the Law that falls on the unredeemed. We are grateful that JESUS CHRIST “kept the Law perfectly” and fulfilling its requirements. Because JESUS never sinned, He is the worthy sacrifice for all our sins and CHRIST’s righteouness is imputed to us so we will not be condemned. What an amazing Savior we have. Blessings to you, your family, and ministry team! Good night my friend!
Like any human being, missing/violating at least a single Law and attempting to subscribe to just a few Laws is like pulling a Jenga piece and missed a mark and everything is falling/crumbling down. Anyone can be in that situation.
So true. Everyone can be in that situation and many have been. Which makes me paused looking at that picture because it speaks about the human condition
Love James, so practical and under preached.

The picture is a very good illustration of failing in that one point and bringing the whole thing crumbling down.

Ah, inspired by GOD. Talagang hinahanap ko ang word na “kinasihan.” For a Cebuano, it is a new word to me.

Praise God that our Lord Jesus kept the law perfectly on our behalf. We would otherwise be like the man in your picture.
