  1. This should be our sole desire: that we bear fruit for the kingdom of God and so glorify Him who has given us His Son in love. Do you see this verse as a warning to believers or non-believers, Gersom?

    1. Yes, Dora, this is a warning for both believers and unbelievers to bear fruit from what they have learned from the Bible in faith in GOD. So even if hypothetically a person believes in GOD’s Word and all its Truths about Him, salvation so on, and not manifesting/translating that belief into faith in His grace that saves and trust in Him as Savior and Lord then if it is status quo forever, in our hindsight as humans who read the Bible, that person might not be saved in the first place. But the choosing is reserved to GOD in His Sovereign Grace so GOD has the final say. So, not translating what we learned into faith in GOD is like a fence sitter sitting on a dangerous border with a chance to be in a place of torment for eternity. Blessings to you and your family!

      1. Thanks for opening up the word of God and sharing. The passage is a warning I think the church needs to take to heart, especially to share the gospel with every opportunity we’re given, so those not yet in the fold may bear fruit instead of thorns. May we grow in the knowledge of the love of our Lord Jesus and the may the Spirit instruct and sanctify us so to glorify our Father, who has called us to Him by His grace. Even as He has blessed us already in Christ, may God bless you and yours richly! “And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.” Rom. 14:4

        1. Well said, Dora! Indeed, may we grow that way. Thank you too for your blessing! Likewise, a blessed Sunday ahead! May we continue to share GOD’s Word and Good News of salavation from the Triune GOD. Good morning!

    1. To think about it, this is just a series break. Thanks, Jim! Actually, this is also related to the “salt” that JESUS wants us to be and when the salt loses its saltiness/flavor, it should be thrown away and trampled underfoot. So, you right, may we NOT bear ONLY thorns and thistles or not having faith in our Lord GOD and Savior. Rather, may we be strengthened by the HOLY SPIRIT and anchor our faith in JESUS CHRIST, in trust and love. Regularly praying to GOD the FATHER through JESUS is the way we won’t slide into producing “thorns and thristles.” Blessings to you and your family!

    1. True, when we follow His Sovereign commands and make JESUS as Lord GOD of our life and Savior of our souls, we are sanctified by Him as we also increase our faith in Him!
