Grief does crazy things to the body. Confessing and lamenting are good for the soul, while staying in a depressed and lamenting state eats away the soul. The winds are changing and waves are rising in this 2020s era. God’s wrath does exist, it is not fulfilled in the Old Testament like people try and act. I am so thankful that no matter what we face, God does indeed give us new mercies each morning. Have a great Tuesday!
Great is GOD’s faithfulness with His mercies renewed each day, indeed! According to the MacArthur Study Bible (ESV), the “all Your waves” (v. 7) here are the “trouble after trouble directed on the psalmist” and “companions to shun me” (v. 8) here “the psalmist claims that the Lord has turned his friends against him” as a sort of “quarantine experience, as from leprosy.” No doubt that the psalmist is “depressed and lamenting” from his trials or maybe his discipline from GOD and yet he expresses and talks his grief to GOD knowing somehow that all these temporary predicament will not compare what GOD stores for him after. A blessed sailing Tuesday ahead!
This is great commentary, thank you for sharing! Skin diseases were a horrific experience in the ANE. I always get choked up in Lev 13:45-46 where the person has to shout “unclean, unclean” to passerby’s while living outside of camp. It would be difficult no matter the duration of the skin disease to not let “unclean” become a part of their identity.
It would be even worse to be cut off from the covenant community. To not be able to worship Yahweh in community. This is another reason why we should thank God for His grace and mercy and boast in Him and not ourselves. Praising God that by grace through faith in Jesus’s work on the Cross we are cleansed of our sin and enter into fellowship and community with the Trinity and other believers. May the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit bring us increased comfort in the days ahead.
We are grateful to GOD for His new covenant that we all won’t shout “unclean” either/both spiritually and/or physically. This pandemic alone, you can’t imagine how many can shout if they can; and shouting does more harm than good. Funny Mandy, one of the options/choices for the featured picture for this post was sneezing with vapors visible but it was too graphic. Humbly receiving GOD the FATHER’s new covenant of grace alone with faith alone, in JESUS CHRIST alone. With this glorious Truth in our heart, soul, body, and mind, we will not be cut off as it implies that the HOLY SPIRIT indwells in us. Good early morning there! One of the things Planty will miss in an hour or so, sunrise! You know what, sorry to say this again, this is an opportune time for the video we have talked about.

Thank you! Grateful to GOD for these pictures for the series. We will have 3 days of similar portraits of expressive agony. These snapshots, capturing the bleakness of one’s point in life, shows worldly pain from 1) effects of sins, 2) trials that should be overcome by faith in GOD, 3) GOD’s discipline for whom He loves, or 4) a way to put the person in the right path. Whatever the causes, when that person is with GOD in Heaven, he/she will just brush aside the past and embrace wholeheartedly his/her present with GOD. Blessings to you and your family!
This is a frightening place to be; it captures full well the horror of being against God (and God against the sinner). I pray God uses this verse in this post evangelistically
