  1. Why do we throw away the grace of God as if it were cheap? Why like the Pharisees do we want to rely on our own works as if salvation lay there? Why can’t we come as the sinners we are without pride and boasting? May God have mercy against any hardening of hearts and minds in these last days! Praise God His mercies are new every morning … and last through the night. (Have a good evening, Kent, blessings on this Lord’s Day!)

    1. These are great points and questions that everyone reading should ponder and act into.

To add on your call to action, we are ALL invited to be saved from the Wrath of hell regardless of the gravity of our sins. No one can say that he/she is beyond redeemable because GOD the FATHER, in His Mercy, can wiped all your sins clean. JESUS CHRIST’s offer of salvation is for everyone and we should accept His offer humbly. We read the words elect and a better way to find out if we are, is to engage with the only way and that is JESUS CHRIST. Talk to JESUS just like you did to your friend and ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to guide you in your walk of faith.

Blessings to you and your family Dora! Good morning!

    1. Pagdasal nalang natin, Ed!

  2. Thanks, Kent! This passage reminds me that sometimes we get feeling moralistically superior and “better than thou” compared to unbelievers, but we won’t bring a single plea to Heaven except for the imputed perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ.

    1. Thank you too Tom! You are right, we all have sinned and bound to the same fate in hell if not for GOD the FATHER’s grace and both the atoning sacrifice of JESUS CHRIST and His imputed righteousness that clothed us so we can be with Him in Heaven. We should humbly accept this Truth and believe by faith that there is nothing we did or can do that merit us. As reiterated in the thread above, it is all GOD’s Work and we should accept His invitation. Blessings to you and your family!

    1. That is what we call GOD’s divine prerogative, Crissy! Yes, true, we will be praising GOD for His immeasurable, enormous, amazing, and surprising grace for having forgiven, saved, and cleansed someone we don’t or least expect! But that is grace! Wow! Crissy! Muchos gracias! Thank you! It is good to hear Filipino from you mi amiga! 🙂 Blessings to you, your family, and your Fryday Team! 🐟🐠

    1. True, this passage was for the Pharisees et al back then and is for those who are just secured on things (e.g. goodness, power) other than GOD. When it comes to NOT believing JESUS CHRIST, it can be that 1) the person is not elect or 2) GOD has not called them yet; and taking cue on Crissy’s comments, we might we surprised they are in Heaven. It is not our prowess but GOD’s divine prerogative that matters. Btw, this picture of a Bible is a Cambodian Translation according to the source of the picture.

      1. Those two possibilities are true, we must keep them in mind when we see someone reject the Gospel. THanks for letting me know that this is from a Cambodian translation!
