What a lesson from this passage that being chosen by God does not mean there’s an absence of suffering but now we know there’s a purpose of God with our suffering
Everything is ultimately in GOD’s plan, purpose, and will and yes, including the suffering that GOD’s chosen must undergo to be polished further in faith and in the holiness process. For this reason, when one is chosen by GOD, that is like winning a thousand lotteries in human terms, knowing we will oneday be seeing and worshipping Him forever; so, whatever suffering a believer in JESUS CHRIST must walk through by faith, it is still very much worth it. Blessings to you and your family!
These are powerful verses. I can understand Ananias’s hesitancy to help Saul; however, we never know when God will allow us to be a vessel for someone like Paul. It’s also sobering that when we feel jealous or maybe insignificant to others in the faith, we do not know specifically what they have suffered for the faith. These verses remind me that the Christian life has suffering and Jesus is not unaware of it because we suffer in and for His Name. Love and blessings on your Lord’s Day!!!
Yes, you are right. Ananias was scared of the man who once was called Saul. He probably realized that this is a lion jaw sized trap. But it was GOD who told him to go and he has faith in GOD who suffered for him on the cross. Similarly in the modern world, we must listen to the HOLY SPIRIT’s prodding in faith. Jealousy has no place in the faith as whatever level of faith that we have, if GOD wills/chooses, we all have the same prize i.e. seeing and worshipping Him forever. Tired however is different. JESUS is GOD and knows every strand in our hair much more all the data and logs that we have. Blessings to you and your family!
Truly God’s ways are not our ways, Jesus chose the “worst of sinners” (as Paul
described himself) one that persecuted His followers as an instrument to carry His Name before the gentiles,
Kings and Israel. (Romana 11:33)
Thank you Clark
Blessings to you and your family .
Very true Crissy! GOD’s ways are not our ways; definitely unique. We humans cannot do that. But with the Triune GOD, nothing is impossible. He can act/renew/change the heart/mind of “the ‘worst of sinners’ into following Him,” such repentance for humans that only GOD can do to His creation. That gives us courage in faith to our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST. Bendiciones mi amiga!

Such a hope that makes our suffering not meaningless (which is worst than suffering with meaning). Glad you know the doctrines of Sovereign Grace!

Saving, calling, and renewing is an act of the Triune GOD. By His will, He inspire people to know what is needed. I know only of few.
