I wonder if this is not what is spoken of in 2 Corinthians 7:10 —“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” (NIV) Judas as the son of perdition is one who couldn’t truly repent.
Very true! The Triune GOD is very very pivotal, in the process of repentance to say the least. By GOD the FATHER’s grace, election, and mercy that brought us Salvation, He brings us to repentance. He is the key, again, by His prerogative. So, we are very very grateful for that. Judas, without GOD’s presence in his life (John 17:12), walked on the road to perdition by corruption (John 12:6) and betrayal. Instead of humbly asking JESUS CHRIST for forgiveness and having a resolve to follow Him, again without the HOLY SPIRIT in His presence, he did what he thought the best way to end his guilt with pride.
We confess our sins to GOD privately, sometimes during prayer and sometimes right after we sinned. Some people are very public about it, that is good, but there are those like me who are what we call a private person who confessed directly to GOD (Psalm 51:4). Confessing to GOD our sins is what we should do. Blessings to you and your family!

You are right that he is a perfect example and probably what Paul had in mind in his Epistle for the Corinthian church, Donna! GOD is showing us what life of not having faith in Him (for forgiveness) would be like. Judas was unrepentant to the bitter end. But he played a purpose for us to ponder on and be firmed in faith in our Lord GOD and Savior JESUS CHRIST; asking forgiveness to Him for our sins. Blessings to you and your family!
