She didn’t give a hoot what those high falutin’ dinner guests thought. She knew she was forgiven. Her action was not concerned with dignity but her love for Jesus. She forgot her self in her adoration of Christ: oh that we would do the same!
Very good point! Simply put, she focused on CHRIST and knew her sins will be forgiven by her Lord GOD and Savior. Blessings to you and your family Dora!
Very true! What the woman did was giving and surrendering herself to her Savior and Lord’s mercy and forgiveness. Whatever her sins, it must be great for: 1) her to do that, 2) JESUS to give a Parable on the Two Debtors, and 3) JESUS acknowledge the quantity of her sins. And still, no amount of sin GOD cannot forgive. Blessings to you and your family!
It’s such a pity that the Pharisee couldn’t see the beautiful honor this woman was bestowing on Jesus. She did what he should have done which is why Jesus gently rebuked him afterwards. Beautiful story of love, mercy and forgiveness.
A good insight! There must be a cultural dimension for that at that time but serving what he deemed as the “Prophet” was not in the heart of the Pharisee. True, a great story, indeed! Blessings to you and your family!
