A disturbing graphic that expresses well the enormity of David’s sin and his confesssion. It struck me how quick the LORD was to forgive David when he repented. Psalms 51:17 (NIV) —“A broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.”
Dora, in the perspective of a reader, it does give many examples depending on one’s lenses e.g. David asked for forgiveness as seen in Psalms 51 and 32. Anointed by GOD yet, David’s figurative hands were dirty as he was so scheming adulterous murderer in this case. Despite being a man after GOD’s own heart, he was never perfect at all. Still, GOD forgave him. It is probably for us readers to see that no gargantuan amount of our sins can ever separate us from GOD’s love, mercy, and election. One thing for sure, it is for GOD’s sole glory. So much to be grateful to the Triune GOD and so much stake to follow Him in obedience. We stumble, He carries us in our journey of faith. Blessings to you and your family!
Very true! And we confess those sins directly to GOD as David wrote in Psalm 51, to You (GOD) alone have I sinned, a megaphone is not required but a sorrowful repentant heart is needed. We can easily recall our sins and express it to GOD through prayer. Blessings to you and your family!
LOved how you said this ” megaphone is not required but a sorrowful repentant heart is needed.” Come with a contrite heart is key and He forgives; man God is a good Savior!
Amen! Had JESUS not, what will happened to David. Still, I believe that GOD even makes a person’s heart contrite; leave it to the person, without the HOLY SPIRIT’s conviction nor GOD the FATHER calling, he/she will not give a word in confession.
GOD’s shows us here that GOD is very forgiving when we acknowledge both Him and our sins. And that, apart from Him, we will just be consumed with our sins. Blessings to you and your family!

David’s confession is such an example for us to confess; and confess means seeing our sins the way God sees it (as oppose to downplaying sin)

David comes clean with God through his repentance. This is a difficult passage to grasp because of David’s cold and calculating act of murder.
