  1. Frightening to think that there is a point when tears of repentance avail nothing: would you say that Esau’s repentance was less spiritual/covenantal than a natural regret for wealth/inheritance lost?

    1. My thoughts was this line, “pretty much too late.” I doubt Esau really repented to GOD but was distraught and so tearfully regretted his actions (but no change of mind to follow GOD even when he did not get his dad’s blessing/bragging rights). He just took the responsibility of “his birthright” forgranted by being enticed with a sumptuous meal. Looks like he can throw away any covenant/agreement or even faith in GOD in exchange for something he desires. Chances are, it is in his DNA. All these, so we will know what GOD’s election is and appreciate Him for His grace and mercy (by reflecting where we are right now in our faith in JESUS CHRIST and how GOD lead us to that direction). Blessings to you and your family!

      1. Very well put, brother, for he did count God’s mercy and grace cheaply as we cannot, knowing how little we deserve it. Blessings this grace-filled day to you & yours as well!

        1. Thank you for your blessings Dora! All these things in the Bible and what is happening in the world and in our lives, is for the purposes and sole glory of GOD; including His grace and salvation work.

  2. Gersom, thanks for being a faithful reader and leaving the likes. You do a beautiful job on this blog. Be blessed. Hope you have a great holiday season coming up, both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    1. Thank you too Oneta! You gave me an idea on a series on the minor prophets; maybe someday. I’m grateful to GOD for the state of this site. It is all for His glory as well as an opportunity to spread His offer of Salvation through our Lord GOD and Savior, JESUS CHRIST. We actually don’t have Thanksgiving in the Philippines but Christmas, you might be surprised, as early as September, Christmas songs are heard in FM stations, malls, grocery stores, any mode of transportation. Although this year is sober that the previous years and decades. Also, decors are available weeks ago and some cities were lightening up their Christmas trees. A blessed week to you and your family!

  3. There are so many roots of bitterness these days and only Jesus can uproot them if we will let Him. Thank you Kent for this series on repentance, a word that is becoming more and more taboo in our society today. Love and blessings to you and your family!
