This does make me pause and wonder if the idiom “lightbulb moment” somehow has it origins in this passage of scripture. Maybe in a pastor’s sermon? The picture inspired me to read this passage in my Bible and follow the cross reference trail where I journeyed through several other New Testament books and ended most appropriately on John 8:12- …Jesus spoke saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.” This is my favorite of Jesus’ “I am” statements I love lightbulb moments in the word. Have a blessed Sabbath!
That is strikingly plausible, Beth! Chances are, that is the source; that it has its unwritten origins from a sermon on this verse. Maybe, before it was used in the comics. Edison hasn’t invented one at that time but JESUS CHRIST showed what it is like to be illuminated, like a burst of connected information/Truths and “it figures.” This is a great point you shared Beth! But it is not the only one. You showed us the usefulness of those connected verses (or references). Indeed, the Bible has many interrelated verses, both OT and NT. JESUS is the light that elucidated all His followers in faith, even on a narrow path. Similarly, the HOLY SPIRIT gives us light-bulb moments as we read the Bible, sing worship songs, in our street walks, moments of silence, gazing into GOD’s creation, and even cuddling with pets. A blessed Sunday ahead to you, your family, and lab!
Very true, Jim! This passage connects the OT with the NT, the Messianic prophesies with the Messiah. No other who brought it up than the Messiah Himself, our Lord GOD and Savior JESUS CHRIST (this sentence alone has the words Messiah, Savior, and CHRIST). GOD the SON did illuminate His followers on the most precious information on earth. Blessings to you and your family! All the best in your sermon!

I see the image of the Bible in this series; this passage shows the OT definitely predict Jesus’ coming!
