Very true! A testimony of 1) GOD the FATHER’s Sovereign will, which was visible in Joseph’s life (Genesis 50:20), and 2) the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT as the source of his dreams/prophesy and wisdom (e.g. storing grain). Also, his character was a fortaste (early on) what it means of being sanctified by JESUS CHRIST in the new covenant. Blessings!
The story of Joseph has been one of my favorite Bible stories since I was a child. As I grew older, I understood why his brothers hated him so much. He was a bit of a jerk. Hahaha! “Hey, look! All of your corn bowed down to my corn!” I mean, sure, it was prophetic. But he wasn’t very subtle about it, as a youngster.
Good point, Jeff, Joseph was not very subtle in conveying his dreams! Thank you for this observation and I felt that way too back then on his story. He was naive, candid, and truthful. He forgot to sugarcoat and one must say, he must have been absent in his diplomacy and proper tact/decorum class. But in hindsight, it was GOD’s sovereign will that he would eventually save his family, tribe, Egyptian kingdom, and maybe the region from starvation in a famine to say the least, so that has to happen and him not a people pleaser. Blessings to you and your family!
What a powerful testimony Jospeh was!
