I will confess I struggled with this when I was first saved. My brother has ALWAYS been good at everything he does. I was generally afraid that my brother would replace me with God. How horrific and satanic. I am genuinely praying for my brother and his family’s salvation. As you said yesterday (I think) our reward is that we get to know Jesus longer in this life. I truly repent and grieve over my attitude at first. God has the right to save whomever He pleases and I pray to be an agent for good and life rather than a stumbling block or negative witness. Love you brother, thankful for this series!
Thank you for sharing, Mandy! We are praying for your brother and his family’s salvation. That is good to know that you have repented and be “an agent for good and life.” Looking forward to see it. Blessings to you and your family!
True, Jim! “May we not be jealous or envious of GOD’s grace towards others.” Afterall, in the end, we will have the same reward for eternity. GOD is sovereign on whom He chooses and He is generous according to His will and purpose.
The more I think about Kent’s post, the more I think about the 10th commandment. I really was an insecure new believer and was really afraid that God would replace me or forget about me due to past experiences. Praise God that He frees us from our sins and insecurities so that we may help, encourage and comfort those who are struggling with what we once did. So thankful for y’all and your families!!!!
Thank you for that testimony! What a wonder to know each other journey! It seems that the doctrine of sovereignty and grace is practical for our life specifically with our individual struggles
Yes, Crissy, the entire subseries on the Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard make us think of the 11th hour converts and there is no other best example than the repentant thief on the cross with JESUS CHRIST. We want to encourage people that it is never too late to accept and follow JESUS CHRIST and we have discussed that in previous post; which I genuinely say fits my objective for this series. For someone who was born in the faith, I’m concerned on the 11th hour converts. Blessings to you, your family, and ministry team!

Wow good post! May we not be jealous or envious of God’ grace towards others, even if God is more gracious in some ways to someone else!
