May our fear of God make us take vows seriously; may we also keep our words even if it isn’t vows

True indeed, whatever we promised, oath, swear, and vowed to GOD or any human (even to a concept, plant, animal, or celestial body), we consider it as our word of honor in the presence of GOD; and, you are right, we should take it seriously especially if we promised it to GOD to Whom we should fear in obedience. Blessings to you and your family!

This and Jesus’s teaching on the Sermon on the Mount is so convicting to me. I can be so uncommittal. Yes being yes, no being no, fulfilling vows, oaths, obligations are all meant to be done to bring God glory. How far short I fall on this sometimes is terrifying. Praise God for His grace and mercy! Praising God for you and your family!!!

I think it’s better not to make any vows.

You are defonitely right! Better not to make vows, oaths and promises at all than not fulfilling it. Blessings to you and your ministry team!
