Peter’s tenderness and concern for the church really comes through this passage, as well as his resolute submission to the martyrdom that awaits. The Peter of this letter is very different from the impulsive and fearful Peter of the gospels.
There is no secret what GOD can do, as the song goes. What happened to Peter is clearly an act of the Triune GOD in his life, from not letting go of him when he was remorseful (Matthew 26:74-75), giving him assurances of His forgiveness (John 21:15-17), and being filled with His presence (Acts 2). GOD had a plan for Peter and Peter did glorify GOD. Blessings to you and your family!
