This shows very strongly God’s sovereignty; He is the Potter and we are being shaped as a pot! I normally use NASB so its interesting to see ESV says Molder rather than Potter
True, Jim! GOD is Sovereign! He is GOD and He created us for His purpose, will, and divine plan. He has absolute right on all that He has created. So, who GOD elects/chooses is blessed. One should humbly accept it. When JESUS CHRIST knocks on your heart, invite Him as the Lord GOD and Savior of your life. Originally, the graphics is supposed to be that of a half dozen of gingerbread men and women but the layout competes with the text. Even the human baker has the right to the design and thickness of his/her pastry. Can the gingerbread man question it? So, who are we to answer back to GOD and “question His choice of certain sinners to salvation,” as John MacArthur points it out in His Bible commentaries. Blessings to you, Nancy, and your kids!
Grateful to GOD for His revelation to all of us by reading the Bible, blog articles, and other resources, and listening to lectures and sermons. Good morning at 3:00 AM PST!
The verse reminds me that as the clay we humans have an inflated view of what we really are. God is Sovereign in everything,
Have a goodnight Clark.
Blessings
You are so right, Crissy! We have an inflated and prideful view of ourselves. But we are just a tiny speck or sand in a wide ocean (of the universe). Yes, GOD is Sovereign in all that He has created. He gives mercy/grace to whom He chooses and withholds it to the rest. Without His guidance and Lordship in our lives, we are doomed. So, when we have the sudden urge or inclination to look/seek Him then that means we should humbly accept JESUS CHRIST as Lord GOD of our life and Savior from all our sins, rejoice in the Lord, and seek/know the Triune GOD further. Blessings to you, your family, and ministry!
