Yes, if Heaven rejoices over a lost that has been called/found, so do us. It depends also what is lost as it is pointless to rejoice in finding a strand of hair, a blog follower can be, but seeing someone repents to GOD and seeks salvation is something that warms the heart. Blessings to you and your family!
True, GOD’s Word/these verses makes us reflect, and at times reinvigorate us vis-a-vis stance/mission(s) in life; just like being splashed with a bucket of cold water. Blessings to you, your family, and your ministry to draw to JESUS CHRIST the lost!
Oh the love of God! That he would search for His children who have gone astray so eagerly and that He would rejoice to bring us into union with Christ Jesus!
Kent, thank you for highlighting one of my favorite parables! I’ve written on its cultural context on my blog (“The Lost Coin and the Znekb”).

Nothing and no one can ever equal a pinch of GOD’s way massive Mercy and Love for His children, Dora! There are so many proofs in the Bible including JESUS CHRIST’s Parables and His atoning sacrifice! Yes, no elect left behind or not called. Even if they’ve gone astray for a time, still the evil one cannot snatch them from GOD. We are kept in GOD’s Mighty and Sovereign Hands all along. The Triune GOD is happy with a repentant “lost” (coin) and draws them closer to Him in the sanctification process. Even GOD’s creation (tomorrow’s post) rejoices for a converted/called sinner. Dora, I’ll search it on your blog tomorrow. Good night my friend! Blessings to you and your family!
Definitely true Alan! GOD searched for us even way before we were born, He has elected us before the universe began. But He does call us to repentance and in faith according to His perfect time.
God’s Word inspires us to seek ways to reach out to others about the Gospel. We never know when our words or actions may be bringing a lost sheep to the Lord.
GOD uses us, indeed, to spread His Word to Whom He calls. We are mere messengers and GOD has the command and control. Blessings to you and your family!
Rejoicing over the lost being found is something I need to practice more. Blessings!

This verse has been a big part of how I view ministry for many years in terms of my priority…this post gave me time to pause and think and evaluate

When no one cared or was searching for us, God was. Hallelujah!
