  1. As I read this verse, I was reminded that although the son faltered, he knew that he could go back to his father. I believe that his relationship with his father(before he left) allowed him to know deep down that even after his mistakes he could go back. And that heart of the father that was known to him is what we get to know and experience when we have a relationship with God. Even when we falter, we know that God would not want us to assume that we cannot turn to Him.

    1. We praise the Triune GOD, in His Righteousness, that even when He is Just and hates sins and sinners, He is also Merciful and Gracious! You are right, Punnen! Even if we faltered many times but we already have a relationship with GOD because 1) GOD the FATHER elected, called, and renewed us, 2) JESUS CHRIST already atoned for ALL our sins and clothed us with His Righteousness so we have a RIGHT relationship with GOD the FATHER, and 3) the HOLY SPIRIT will guide us to do the right thing. With the HOLY SPIRIT making the prodigal son realized that he is better of with his father even as a slave, he heads home; just like anyone of us who are children of GOD, we go back in faith in the Triune GOD. GOD will keep us in the end and that is a call for everyone who are in the verge of deciding to follow and have faith in JESUS CHRIST. Blessings to you and your family!

  2. Isn’t encouraging to know that when we do foolish destructive things and we came to our senses we can always return to our loving Father always ready to forgive and chastise is when necessary.

    1. True Crissy! It is very encouraging to know and giving us the hope that GOD truly keeps us according to His Word. It is also astonishing that GOD the FATHER allows us to come to our senses when we make mistake/sin. Yes, it is because He renews our heart and writes His Law so we could walk by faith in JESUS CHRIST under the guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT. The Triune GOD keeps us indeed and no enticing evil can snatch us (John 10:29). Of course, with our foolishness as Christians, comes discipline. GOD does this because He loves us like parents do to their children. Unlike the other graphic, this particular feature image took less than 20 minutes to research. Our hands are dirty when it comes to sin unlike the Heavenly hosts or servants or angels. GOD threats us more than them in the end. Buenas tardes mi amiga! Bendiciones para usted, su familia y el grupo del viernes!

    1. Amen! Praise GOD that the sinner realized, Jim! Had he not, he heads to hell even in his worst state and to reside in there forever is a much worse than his worst state. That is how greatful we are to GOD that He calls and makes us realized that we need our Savior and Lord GOD JESUS CHRIST so that we can have a right relationship with GOD the FATHER and be guided by the HOLY SPIRIT while being sanctified on earth. We are eternally secured with the Triune GOD’ s work in our Salvation. This is an invitation to everyone in that predicament to come to JESUS by praying; GOD will surely respond. Blessings to you and your family!

        1. We all deserved in the worst place in the tormenting hell because we all sinned and there is no difference nor hierarchy among sinners, all have rebelled with GOD. We are grateful to GOD that even when He is Just and Righteous, He made a costly way for us to be a recipient of His Mercy.

    1. Definitely true, Nora! GOD is merciful and accepts in open arms those who repent and seek second, third, fourth, nth chances with Him by faith! That is how vastly wide His mercy. Romans 8:38-39 reminds us that nothing will separate us from the Love of GOD in CHRIST JESUS. 🙂 True indeed, there is none like Him who is Just and Righteous and still Merciful because there is no true GOD but Him! Blessings to you and your family!

  3. What does he have to lose by going back to his father? Even if his father rejects him, his life for a Jew cannot get any lower or worse. The son resolves in his mind to repent, acknowledging his sins to his father. It’s only when we come to the end of ourselves with our hands open and dirty that we are able to repent, seeking the Father’s forgiveness. Blessings to you and your family.

    1. These are great points to ponder on the character of the prodigal son in JESUS CHRIST’s Parable. Indeed, the son can repent and ask forgiveness to his biological father for squandering all his money/inheritance but there is a chance that he will serve like a slave, Mandy. But our Gracious GOD will not do that to us because He will mercifully accept and embrace us as His own children. He already chose us before creation so He keeps us; we are sealed and eternally secured. Also, the moment we realized that our hands are dirty with sin is actually a blessing from GOD. Not all people realized that, and they end up in hell. Blessings to you and your family!

    1. Donna, you are the 4th one who signified that this Parable is your favorite. JESUS–who judges all who sinned but impute His righteousness on us whom He keeps so we won’t be condemned–conveys this message that the Triune GOD’s Love is so massive and He is merciful for the repentant sinner. GOD the FATHER’s love is immeasurable as He elects us before He even ceeated the universe and us out of His mercy. That alone clearly shows His love. Blessings to you and your family!
