True, John was the last and he had two most important messages, these were on the coming of the CHRIST and repentance for sins. According to JESUS (in Luke 7:28), “I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” (ESV) What a promise by our Lord GOD and Savior and “very much” worth the repentance and confession of our sins directly to GOD, to receive the forgiveness of sins. Blessings to you and your family, Dora!
I love that promise: what assurance of the blessings of salvation in Christ it speaks of! Good night from here 🌙, have a great day over there 🌞. God bless.
An essential message and relevant to Salvation i.e. change of mind by act of GOD the FATHER so we can be justified and follow JESUS CHRIST during the sanctification process, which is also strengthen by the Triune GOD. On a different note, your post for 9/11 Anniversary, reminded me of 20 years ago when an MIS Program classmate called me to watch CNN. I called my sisters upstairs and my brother in the US right away to watch. That was unbelievable, surreal, and horrific on live TV, especially the 2nd plane. We discussed that in our IS 203/Geopolitical class (evening EST/morning PHT) the following day and was constantly checking for mobile news thru GPRS back then. That was also part of the questions during the Comprehensive Examinations. Blessings to you and your family!
Wow that is crazy your memory, thank you for sharing. Must have been surreal to learn about geopolitics and seeing something that would involve dimensions of geopolitics for the next 20 years
That was the practical approach and newest case at that time other than the usual cases of conflicts and “tag of wars.” It opens the mind then on the regional area and the global politics/security that affects it. I wish you the best on your sermon!
Chances are there will be flashbacks all over the news, Mandy! There are flashbacks even in our local news. This is just the continuation in the series. Tomorrow, we will have a new series…on the same topic, no kidding. A blessed fishing you both! Blessings to you and Nathan! Seven more days!
Actually, that was 6 more days, I got confused with the day difference, Mandy! Tomorrow, we will have acts that also covers verses from the Book of Acts. Thank you and bring home the Snapper, Cod, Tuna, Salmon, or Planty! 😉 Buena swerte! 🐠🐟
My husband and I have been watching a series on YouTube called “One Israel,” about Jews, Muslims, and others who have found Jesus Christ. Their testimonies are quite moving, especially the ones who struggled with forgiveness and hate. How many times have I, myself, said, “I will never forgive that person!” And yet, forgiving those who hurt us, and praying for those who hate us, brings about our own redemption and often helps the other person change, too.
Forgiveness is hard especially the gravity of the offence and the nature of offence. Only GOD can give us the heart for forgiveness particularly the hard to reconcile ones. GOD’s grace that calms the forgiving heart is something we pray as we strive to forgive. But minor ones, we can easily forgive, though some cases/instances, it will take time. You are right, we must listen to this and forgive as JESUS CHRIST commanded, even if it takes time. Blessings to you and your family!
John was the last of the OT prophets “preparing the way of the Lord” by preaching repentance.
