All the details that Luke gives us of this incident are so believable. There is no other like it. That Saul, now blind, neither ate or drank after this encounter shows how humbled he was.
You are right! Saul a.k.a. Paul, scholar of the Law with an authorized mission, was foremost humbled that inspite of his rebellion towards JESUS CHRIST, he was given a second chance by GOD the SON. He was also regretful/remorseful for what he did to the Messiah by persecuting his people. He, at that time, has resolved to dedicate his life in service of his Lord GOD and Savior as his Master. And those moments of fasting (from food that perishes), he probably was feasting of soul food that was nourished to him by the HOLY SPIRIT, processing it for his mission(s).
On a different note in the field of DRM and EM, what happened to Paul was an example of a person surviving without water for 3 days and that is the typical limit/borderline. But with the HOLY SPIRIT around during his (literal) dark days, made him survived that long without mental difficulties.
Anyway, you are also right about the physician. Inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT, Luke, with primary sources, wrote this detailed account for all of us to ponder. Blessings to you and your family!
Kent,
You’ve made me see how rich this short passage is. Thank you. As the great apostle writes in Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” 🙏
Thank you Dora for the blessing! Btw, this series (mostly from the Book of Acts) will be followed by the series on the HOLY SPIRIT. I hope most of the best verses to comment be posted before 10-14-2021.
Grateful to GOD for the availability and discovery of that image. For Paul, everything seems dark at that time but the light has just entered him that made him be ready for his missions. Grateful to our Lord GOD and Savior JESUS CHRIST for using Paul to edify us with all his GOD inspired Epistles. Blessings to you and your family!
“ Grateful to our Lord GOD and Savior JESUS CHRIST for using Paul to edify us with all his GOD inspired Epistles”. Indeed. We benefit so much from God’s grace to Paul both his salvation and his service!
I wonder the thoughts that occupied his mind during the three days, I imagine that food and water was the very very last thing in his mind, if at all. What an encounter he had with the very Son of God he was persecuting by attacking His followers. This is so powerful that requires deep consideration, for me anyway as I am thinker and explorer and need to know everything.🤔
Blessings Clark.
True indeed, Crissy! This 9th verse “requires deep consideration” and we can only know in Heaven the detailed account of these three days. We can surmised that this includes the spiritual transformation a.k.a. repentance a.k.a conversion of Paul from a rebel/persecutor to a sorrowful guilt-ridden, humbled, and remorseful to a driven believer/worker/missionary of JESUS CHRIST, all these “halo-halo” (Filipino word for mixes) transpiring in just 3 days. A transformation that is similar to a caterpillar changing into a different form 🦋 spreading its wings for the Gospel; from a rebel to a formidable apostle. A GOD of second chances indeed! We can also surmised that during this moment, the HOLY SPIRIT was prepping him for his eventual role in GOD’s plan. He might be a scholar of the Law but connecting the dots to GOD’s Salvation work, requires Divine intervention. Aside from being spiritually nourished, and just like the sparrows that GOD cares, he might have a nourishment straight from Heaven. We can only know in Heaven but if we have wireless charging technology these days, nothing is impossible with the Creator GOD. So, food may be “the very very last thing in his mind.” The skinniest and hungriest person can run and complete an obstacle course with no sweat if GOD is there with the person who has faith. If GOD has a plan for you, He ensures that you will carry it, of course with Him. A blessed Tuesday mi amiga!
Thank you for this deep and meaningful comment. That’s a good analogy the transformation from a caterpillar to a butterfly 🦋.
Thank you my dear friend. Blessings to you and your family.

Originally, my thoughts were a 🧈 and a 🪰but the correct emoji was a good emphasis on the change of form. Good evening!
