Ananias is a great example to us in our Christian walk; sometimes God will ask us to do things we are not keen on, but if like Ananias we obey we could see the glorious outcome of Almighty God at work.
Alan, what you wrote reminded me of the hymn, Trust and Obey. Yes, it is the only way to be happy in JESUS CHRIST. GOD the SON was speaking directly to Ananias through a dream and this might be like an OT verse but NT has many accounts like this one. Even today, we have promptings of the HOLY SPIRIT geared towards trusting GOD and obedience to Him. We have to be sensitive to His voice. Indeed, our GOD is at work then, now, and tomorrow. Blessings to you and your family!
True, may we listen and obey to the prompting of the HOLY SPIRIT, Crissy! Both of them completed their mission though, still Ananias was more obedient than Jonah. Bendiciones tambien, to you and your family!
As I reflected on your last 3 posts, David’s words in 2 Chronicles 16:12 came to mind, “Remember the wonders He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He pronounced.” I wonder if Straight Street became a place of remembering for Ananias. Was His faith bolstered each time he walked that street recalling the events of that day. Did he walk his children and grandchildren down that road past Judas’ house and tell them of the Lord’s mighty work in Saul?
Beth, I really like your observation on the verses! Yes, most likely when he was reminiscing in faith how GOD is a GOD of wonder and how important it was to be of service to Him; and yes, he possibly did this when he and his family were in the area. We are grateful to GOD that He gives us those moments, whether a place, an event, or even an object as a reminder in our spiritual growth or milestone, or significant event. Truly GOD is there in our walk of faith/sanctification with Him. This reminds me of the song/poem, Footprints in the Sand. Blessings to you and your family Beth! Regards to your Lab! 🐶

During this entire account, God enlists specific individuals to assist Saul in his journey with Christ. Our Lord does the same with many today.
