I don’t know why we think those who are in positions of wealth and power are so comfortably off that they have no hunger of the soul. But I think we do. In this case the Spirit moved this man of position to seek after God’s word. I note that he wasn’t seeking Paul’s word or opinion or bag of tricks. He “sought to hear God’s word”!
There is hunger in people to know GOD, when He calls. GOD’s call for repentance/changing of mind to follow JESUS CHRIST is very effective (who can resist). That was what happened to Sergius Paulus, regardless of his economic and political status. If people are so interested/intrigued on a certain topic, his, was more of motivation like his life depends on it. Just like a point in our lives, when we start having a hunger to read the Bible, listened to recorded sermons, and talk to Him. GOD has a way for everyone indeed! Blessings to you and your family!
