This is an example of the “unclean” becoming clean and included in the family of followers/believers! Peter, with the inspiration of the HOLY SPIRIT was able to preach the Gospel. However, years later, he was rebuked by Paul (Galatians 2:11-14) for being peer pressured by Jewish believers to avoid mingling with the uncircumcised Gentiles. Yet, the spreading GOD’s Word continued with the inspiration of HOLY SPIRIT and many of us Gentiles, hear GOD’s Word, the proclamation of JESUS CHRIST as Lord GOD of our lives and Savior of our soul. GOD’s grace is truly amazing! Blessings to you and your family, Jim!
How sobering to think Peter could be so right here with the Gospel and Gentiles can later be so wrong! What a lesson it is for us of how we can be weaker than we realized!!!
Yikes I didn’t write clearly. I meant to say Peter was right to obviously reach Cornelius in obedience to the Lord. Yet later in book of Galatians we learn Peter compromised. This is a lesson we can be faithful at times but also the pressure to compromise is real and the future our failure can be very possible.
The first time I encountered the passage (Galatians 2:11-14) years ago, I thought it strange that Peter was rebuked even after JESUS’ Ascension. Yet, there was a lesson that we should know on this account which you have pointed out so clearly. We are grateful to GOD that in our imperfections (even if we strived to be holy), He is forgiving, patient, and merciful. Peter was a good example of GOD’s grace and sanctification process i.e. pre and post rooster crow. In the end, he is in Heaven.
“ Peter was a good example of GOD’s grace and sanctification process i.e. pre and post rooster crow.”. Amen! Grateful He gives us grace both salvation wise and sanctification wise!
There are still many “saintly” examples of struggle in the sanctification process that highlighted GOD’s grace. Still, GOD the SON keeps them in forever.
Amen! As we read about Peter’s journey in the Book of Acts, we are blessed with an amazing, inspiring look at the Gospel. Kent, blessings to your faithful witness to the Word of God
Very true, Richard! The Book of Acts comes as a nutshell of the 4 Gospels as well as the “how” or the manner where these Apostles/Disciples/Followers of JESUS CHRIST proclaimed Him as the Messiah and the SON of GOD. It also shows the impact of the HOLY SPIRIT’s inspiration/presence on these individuals and groups. Blessings to you and your family!
Amazing God is bringing Cornelius to the Gospel

Thank you Richard; all in GOD’s direction and inspiration. Without the Triune GOD’s illumination, I don’t think we will be understanding 💡 His Word.
